Black History Month will be the month dedicated to the essential people and events in black culture.
According to biography.com/blackhistory, The Black Energy Movement of the ‘70s made well-liked racial pride and the significance of cultural values. The Association for the Study of African American Life and History began Negro History Week in 1926 with the goal to educate blacks about their cultural background and give them a sense of pride in their race. In 1976, The Association for the Study of
African American Life and History changed Negro History Week to Black History Week and prolonged the celebration from a week towards the entire month of February.
Over the years the celebration has become widely recognized and is now celebrated by the entire United States.
