AP adds that "the airport, the eighth largest in the world...Earlier Tuesday, hundreds of incoming flights were canceled because of the huge winter storm sweeping a lot of the nation."
Delays are also being reported at Houston Bush-Intercontinental Airport and Houston Hobby.
Storms are causing about an hour delay at Hobby and about a half hour delay at IAH, according towards the FAA.
